New high performance NIJ Std 0101.06 Level IIIA Bullet Resistant Vests
PPSS Group's latest high performance bullet resistant vests offer not only NIJ Std 0101.06 Level IIIA tested and certified ballistic protection, they also protect the wearer from full contact shots as required by the FBI and the infamously stringent German Police body armour test protocol. Official test reports are of course available upon special request.
This advanced design has been successfully tested against a general issue TASER® device, which was recently conducted in a realistic operational setting - with no effect on the wearer. The wearer was not incapacitated by the Taser discharge nor suffered any effects of the device.
PPSS Bullet Resistant Vests are currently being worn by international government agencies, such as the United Nations, as well as Special Ops Units, Secret Services, Diplomatic Protection Teams, Personal Security Details (PSD) and Private Military Contractors (PMC) all over the world.
If you are looking for the very best durable protection you can truly depend on, then you have just found what you were looking for.

Frequently Asked Questions
What protection do PPSS Bullet Resistant Vests provide?
All of our bullet resistant vests are tested and certified to NIJ Level IIIA and provide protection from Tokarev Ball 7.62 x 25mm and Makarov 9 x 18mm. They also offer a sufficient level of protection from edged weapons and hypodermic needles.
Does moisture effect the bullet resistant vests?
No, the performance of our high performance body armour is unaffected by moisture. This is a key advantage over all body armour made out of Kevlar® or similar aramid fibres.
Can PPSS Bullet Resistant Vests be used in hot and humid conditions?
Yes - for our high performance bullet resistant vests we use Outlast® temperature regulating space technology (co-developed by NASA) to offer the best
possible comfort in hot and humid conditions. Outlast® will aid in reducing the risk of overheating of the body.
What colours are available?
Black is the standard colour. However, our Covert (CV1) model is also available in white or sand. Other models are available in additional colours but subject to minimum
Why are they so expensive?
We genuinely believe PPSS Bullet Resistant Vests are the best in the world. The incredible overall performance ratio between all key criteria (weight, thickness and performance in hot and humid conditions) plus the appropriate level of knife and needle protection makes our body armour stand out. As far as today's manufacturing technology is concerned it does not get any better!
Do you have other covers with front and rear pockets for ballistic panels?
Yes, our Overt (OV1) version, made out of military spec Cordura 1000D, features front & rear pockets for 250x300mm ballistis plates.
Ronin (SA) is a High Risk Close Protection and Remote Medic training academy situated in Cape Town, South Africa. We pride ourselves in the provision of relevant and effective tuition in both disciplines. We couple with this a high degree of practical experience within South Africa's most at risk areas, the townships. Naturally this presents challenges to the safety of students and as a result, we are constantly on the lookout for products that can make the real life delivery of this tuition viable and safe within this unique training environment. Please see www.ronin.co.za
In January of this year, PPSS offered to provide Ronin with a CV1 and EV1 vest to analyze and review due to our unique climate and needs namely - low profile close protection and para-medicine. As you know South Africa has some of the highest murder rates per capita in the world and as such is viewed as an "at risk" environment.
To date, we have deployed the vests in both close protection and paramedic roles. We found the vests to be very low profile and this aspect allows for a greater level of diplomacy, as one is not perceived to be "wearing body armor". As such you are perceived to be far less of an aggravator to any situation, but rather you are a safer mediator.
Another excellent quality of the vest is the management of heat utilizing "Outlast" technology, as you can imagine this is of utmost importance in South Africa.
We strongly recommend this product line in our academy and have no hesitation in recommending it to any professional in need of low profile, yet highly effective, covert body armor. We are available to any party for further clarification regarding our experiences of this product.
Thanking you in Safety, Security and Service.
